BEACHES TO BE ENJOYED ALL YEAR ROUND

The average annual temperature in Orihuela is 18.1 ºC, with an average temperature of 10.6 ºC in winter and 26.2 ºC in summer. Orihuela is a city where human settlements can be traced back from the Chalcolithic period (Copper Age), through the Argaric culture, the Late Bronze Age and the Iron Age to the Iberian and Roman cultures.

 

Orihuela has 16 km of magnificent fine golden sandy beaches and coves, which make it one of the most awarded tourist destinations in Spain. It’s also one of the most desirable places for cycling, whether amateur or professional, as it boasts 10 routes extending over 80 km.

 

Miguel Hernández, one of the most internationally celebrated Spanish poets and playwrights, was born in this city. You can visit both his birthplace and the house, now a museum, where poet lived with his family.
